Year 2, Day 102: With the hours this morning, I have logged more than 80 hours since Monday morning for work. In one week. Jeepers! On the upside, we're in a pretty good place, and it looks like we're going to make our deliverables for Wednesday morning (with a few long days tomorrow and Tuesday), and... it's really kind of amazing. The dates we have been given are very aggressive, the database has some flaws that we have to request other departments to fix, and there's a LOT of data situations we had to address and test, but we seem to be doing pretty well. Most everyone is in good spirits, and the light at the end of the tunnel is fast approaching, which is good news!
I did take a break this afternoon and go see GRAVITY with Kris and her parents, and, I must say... good flick. Go see it if you haven't already, and if you can see it in IMAX, I highly recommend it!
I also went for a little run this afternoon, which felt good. California is remarkably beautiful, even in downtown Sacramento, and the trees are doing their level best to make it feel like fall (though, of course, they're never going to compete with Vermont).
All in all, things are good. Oh, and the Gamecocks had a much-needed good football weekend: a decisive win over Arkansas, and Georgia lost out to Mizzou, which is great news! If they cough up one more SEC loss, we can still see getting into the SEC championship game. If it's dark. And you squint. But it's a possibility!!
I hope you are all having a magnificent weekend, and October is shaping up to be a great start to Fall.
Happy Sunday, penguinians, and, tomorrow, ADVENTURE!! :)
