Day 71

Day 71: Well, the time has come.  The words and images are pretty much just blurry color at this point.  The (scant) weather, the sprinklers, and the local pedestrian traffic have combined to eliminate much of the art that was created over the Chalk It Up event two weeks ago.

On the upside, the whole experience really got me back into drawing in a big way, and I'm even considering moving into painting (though illustration is really my thing).  If you're in or near Sacramento, and need to pick up some art supplies, I would like to pimp University Art in midtown.  They're good folks, and they graciously donated loads of chalk to the charity event.  Plus, they have an extensive inventory, allowing the local artists to be just as particular as they like.  I'm not snobby about many things, but I really do prefer higher quality paper, brushes, and prismacolors.

Today, I had lunch with my peeps R, J, B23, and our newest addition, the lovely MH.  We noshed on Mongolian BBQ (is there any other kind?  I mean, honestly...).

Life in Sacramento is shaping up.  I am starting to involve myself in the local art scene as much as I can.  I have made loads of wonderful new friends.  I can have Mongolian BBQ whenever I want it, for cryin' out loud!  I do still miss quite a lot of my East Coast peeps, but I'm enjoying living in midtown and having a lot of good people nearby.

It's not nearly as lonely as I was worried it might be.

Hooray!!

:)

Tomorrow, ADVENTURE!!
