Day 7

Day 7: My cousin, Jessalyn, used to live in this town.  In point of fact, she used to work at "The Naked Lounge" which (I was shocked to discover) is your basic college coffee shop.  I knew it was somewhere around where I was living:

Oh, that's right: it's across the damn street from my new apartment.

I went in, and decided to ask if anyone knew her.  Here's a nice young lady named Alison, who is actually saying, "Hi, Jessalyn!!"

I sat for a spell, and drew a picture of a Pandaren, before excusing myself for the evening.  In case you don't know what a Pandaren is... it's a panda.  Smoking a pipe, wearing Chinese robes, and holding a throwing star.  As pandas are wont to do:

So, quite the nerd, am I.

My favorite books when I was a wee lad were the desert island adventures: Robinson Crusoe, the Swiss Family Robinson, The Mysterious Island...  In each of these, people who are more or less on their own must adapt to their unfamiliar surroundings, and, in so doing, find a way to make a life.  It is always pure adventure, and it's always been my dream to try something like that one day; to me, that's the ultimate adventure.  Finding your way through a mysterious land, and making your own space just as comfy as you can.

It's in that mindset, then, that I find myself having a microwave dinner, browsing the internet on my laptop, sitting on an air mattress, in an otherwise completely empty apartment:

And having the TIME OF MY LIFE!

To you, gentle reader, I hope that tomorrow is, as every day always is:

ADVENTURE!!  :)

So I perused facebook for the first time in oh I don't know, ever, and saw that you have a new blog. Suffice it to say that instead of sleeping like a responsible adult, I've been thoroughly regaled with Jim stories, which I now realize that I miss very much. You've got a reader over here.

Plus - the dryer thing? An actual lol. Not a stupid "lol" where there was no sound. Actual.

Also - what's the deal with that watch? It looks massive. Are you running ETLs on your wrist now? California is weird.

For my five year anniversary, RSI gave me a gift card, and I used it to buy the biggest watch I could find. It is, in fact, massive, and has no face so that you can actually see all the clockworks. It's great, and I love it!!

Yeah, I quite like the dryer story. Nuclear certified, theoretical mathematician... can't tell the difference between a washer and a dryer.
