Day 30: I spent the evening having coffee with a new friend, which went swimmingly.
And then I got into an argument on the internet.
I know.
I know.
No, seriously, I KNOW. But I believe in this cause, and so I had to.
I know.
I support gay marriage. Not because I'm gay, or bisexual, or transgendered, or lesbian. I'm deliciously heterosexual, and that works out awesomely for me, because, you know, boobs.
A quick aside: a lot of my dear friends and family members read this blog, and a lot of them have boobs, and let me be clear that I'm not talking about YOUR boobs...
Oh, holy God this is just getting more awkward....
Ahem.
I support gay marriage simply because, as I've said elsewhere, I have gay, bisexual, transgendered, and lesbian friends.
On some level, I want to use this platform to write a long treatise on the LGBT community, and their rights. Instead, let me focus on one thing:
You do not decide to be gay, any more than I decided to be white or American or male. Or heterosexual.
You cannot condemn someone for a choice they cannot make.
I love all of you, and I want you all to have the same freedoms that I enjoy.
Chik-fil-A is not really the enemy, but it helps that I live in a town with lots of local food options, and boycotting them isn't hard for me.
Chipotle, though, can just go jump off a cliff. Not because they're anti-gay (as far as I know, they're not), but because the food is just awful...
