Day 16

Day 16: I'm sorry that I've got nothing much to report, as my adventure today was limited to all of my stuff arriving.  I did manage to take a break from unpacking to head over to join R and J for some DELICIOUS latkes, and, R permitting, I'll post the recipe soon, because with just a little sour cream and quite an assortment of salts, it was a taste sensation that needs to be in my kitchen soon.

Unfortunately, I can't cook anything in my kitchen yet, because my stuff hasn't...

Oh, hey, wait a second!

MY STUFF SHOWED UP TODAY!!!

Thanks to B23 and the shipping guys, we got all of it into the apartment, and really quite a lot of it unpacked.  I've spent the last 12 hours washing linens and dishes, and looking through things to make sure nothing was missing or broken, and nearly nothing was.  I'll need to do some crafty things this weekend to repair my "Hollywood Lamp", and I'm missing the back-end to the hilt of Lady Vashj's sword, which, frankly, is not that big of a deal.  Otherwise, everything came through.

I did have a bit of a panic when I couldn't find my bedside table lamps, and was even standing at the checkout counter at Target with a new one in my basket, when R's words echoed in my mind:

"Have you opened all of the boxes?"

Well, yes, that's how I know they're missing.  If I hadn't opened all of the boxes, you outrageous beast, I could only conclude that I haven't found them yet.  Duh.

...

...

...

Wait, I haven't opened the "clothes" boxes yet.

And the lamps were next to the clothes.

Hang on a tick...

I held off on buying the lamp.

I got home, and, voila:

And the Jim said, "Let there be LIGHT!" and there was light, and it was good.

Sorry I couldn't fit the entire bed into the frame (I'm actually as far back as I could get in that room).  The bed is sort of humongous, and fluffy, and not an airbed, and not on the floor, not slowly deflating as I toss and turn in my sleep, and I'M GOING TO SNUGGLE DOWN IN IT UNTIL THE CRUEL FATES REQUIRE ME TO RISE AGAIN TO THE DAWNING OF ANOTHER DAY!!  ARRR!!*

I have lots and lots and LOTS of shots from this particular adventure, and I'll post them up soon.

Meanwhile, here's a shot of B23 eating the Banh Mi sandwich I bought for him (at the always delicious Magpie) for helping me out:

As you can tell by his sweatshirt, he's a fan of the Oklahoma Ducks.  Or is it the Ohio Ducks?  I don't really follow lacrosse.

Anyway, thanks, man!!  :)

Adventure, friends.  Always ADVENTURE!!

*yes, it's an incredibly comfy, well-appointed, neatly manicured, and impeccably maintained pirate bed.  ARRR!!
