Day 14: I've discovered a fact about myself that is nearly supernatural. I don't mean to unnerve you, gentle reader, but I have what can only be described as the dumbest superpower in the world:
I'm bad at lunch.
Worst. Superpower. Ever
This happens every day. I go with my friends to one of the myriad cafeterias on campus, and I order lunch. They do, too, or sit down to eat their prepared lunches. And every single day, by the time I reach the table where my friends sit, I find them with empty dishes, staring at me expectantly, as I begin to eat my meal. I'm ruining the lives of the people I care about.
So today, finally, I figured a way around it: we'd go off-campus for lunch.
Now, I want you to understand that this is something that has been sticking in my craw for a bit, so I took some pro-active steps (like a good consultant!):
1 - I was close to first in line. I tried to muscle my way ahead of J, but she's stronger than she looks. Despite being a full foot and a half shorter than me. Ahem.
2 - I ordered something simple at Chipotle: a bowl of Mexican. How much simpler could I go??
3 - I was determined. That counts. I was determined to finish before everyone else.
I sat down. I began to eat.
I looked up.
I found them with empty dishes, staring at me expectantly, as I began to eat my meal.
...damnit.
---
I had a wonderful evening, though, hanging with good friends, eating good food, and enjoying really good television.
Adventure means never having to explain why you're taking a long time eating lunch. Or something.
Loves to my peeps.
Tomorrow, for you and I both, in equal measure:
ADVENTURE!! :)
