Day 11: I'm just going to lay out today's adventure, sans commentary, and allow you to draw your own conclusions:
Ahem.
6:14 a.m.: Phone call from R. Failed to pick up in time. Dangit.
6:15 a.m.: Phone call from R, telling me that he'll be dropping off a TV I can borrow for the nonce in about five minutes. I confirm that that is cool.
6:15:30 a.m.: Realize that I need more clothing.
6:16 a.m.: Garner and don clothing.
6:20 a.m.: Meet R on the street outside, where he gives me a (very nice) TV.
6:28 a.m.: Set up TV in apartment. No cable yet, so this is currently just a big thing in my apartment (relative to the only other piece of furniture, which is an air mattress).
6:30 a.m.: Still awake.
6:45 a.m.: Still awake.
7:00 a.m.: Still awake.
7:30 a.m.: Still awake.
7:45 a.m.: Still awake.
8:00 a.m.: Still awake.
8:15 a.m.: Cable guy FINALLY shows up, and starts setting up cable and internet (he was scheduled to arrive between 7:30 and 8:30 a.m., hence all of the above "still awake" nonsense).
9:15 a.m.: Cable guy finishes.
9:30 a.m.: Note that HBO is running a Game of Thrones Season 1 marathon, starting at ten.
10:00 a.m.: Tune into marathon of Game of Thrones (a television version, for the uninitiated, of a fantasy series I started reading back in 1998). I've seen it before, but I can't stop watching. I have TV!!
6:00 p.m.: Um... Yeah.
6:05 p.m.: What? Why are you judging me? That Peter Dinklage (as Tyrion Lannister) is compelling!!
6:15 p.m.: Wallow in shame. Revel in the fact that it's a weekend that did not involve an airplane. Snuggle more firmly into air mattress.
6:30 p.m.: Acquire and consume food.
8:00 p.m.: Head over to R's to watch another three episodes of "Jekyll"
12:00 a.m.: Head home to crash. Jekyll is awesome. Lots of talks about the finer points of storytelling, focusing on the truly excellent reveals in the show.
1:44 a.m.: Remember, a little too late, to update the blog. Send love to anyone who happens to be following along. Decide that I should finally sleep.
1:45 a.m.: Decide to include one nice picture of my new jacket (purchased during food run), to ask the crowd if it's too "hipster". The problem is that it is chilly here in the evenings, and my only other choice was a hoody, and, frankly, I'm a grown-up...
Good evening to you all, and tomorrow, as always, ADVENTURE!!
(...for suitable values of ADVENTURE!!)
