Day 348: THINGS. HAVE. HAPPENED.
I'll go back at some point and recap some of the major events, but here's the quick recap of the last few weeks:
- LOTS AND LOTS of hours for work, but it's crunch time, and there's just a lot to do. This is everybody, not just me.
- K and I ventured down to the super-super-super-fancy-schmancy Ritz-Carlton at Half-Moon Bay, CA, for a long, quiet weekend. It was GLORIOUSLY indulgent, and we had a wonderful time. That's the hotel, pictured above. It was AMAZING. I will share pictures soooooon!!
- I then got really, really sick.
That last is where we are today. I left work early on Friday, was sick all weekend (K, bless her heart, took care of me the entire time), was out again on Monday, and left work early today. I finally went to see Dr. Kim, who informed me that yes, I have a viral infection, and yes, I would need bedrest, and yes, I was highly contagious.
In advising me how to treat the non-stop cough and sneezing, she recommended honey tea. I looked at her, silently saying, "Is that...?" And she clarified, "It's tea with honey in it."
Aha. I'm on it.
I picked up a bear-ful of honey, 100 tea bags, some delicious cheddar cheese for both grilled cheese and general snacking purposes, and some not-at-all delicious cough syrup with codeine in it, to allow me to finally get some sleep tonight.
Tonight is R's big birthday dinner, and I was invited and fully planning on going, but as I'm leaking fluids, I think it's best I pass this time. I should be on the mend for the BIIIIIG shindig, which is this Saturday.
Tomorrow, ADVENTURE!! :) Well, bedrest and working from home, but that's a sort of adventure, right?
